Salik is Dubai's automated road-toll system, operated by Salik Company (a publicly listed entity on the Dubai Financial Market since 2022). Each pass under a Salik gantry is charged automatically to the vehicle owner's prepaid account.
What it does
There are eight Salik gantries on major Dubai roads (Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Garhoud Bridge, Al Maktoum Bridge, others). The toll is AED 4 per pass at standard times and AED 6 at peak. Vehicles need a registered Salik tag and a prepaid account; recharging is done through the Salik app, RTA app, banks, or service stations. Unpaid tolls accumulate into a fine that must be cleared before vehicle renewal at Tasjeel.
