DHA is the Dubai Health Authority, the Dubai-emirate regulator for healthcare facilities, professionals, and the mandatory Dubai Health Insurance Programme (DHIP).
What it does
DHA licenses doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacies, and health facilities operating in Dubai through its Sheryan e-licensing portal. It runs the public Dubai Health hospitals network (Rashid, Latifa, Dubai, Hatta) and enforces DHIP — the mandatory employer-provided health insurance that has applied to all Dubai-based employees since 2014. DHA also publishes the Dubai hospital tier classifications (tier 1 secondary/tertiary, tier 2 polyclinic, tier 3 single-specialty centre).
