MOEC is the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism — the Ministry of Economy until it was renamed on 20 June 2025. It is the federal regulator of trademarks, consumer protection and national economic policy, and it sets the national tourism strategy.
What it does
MOEC operates the UAE trademark registry (the Madrid Protocol entry point), runs the Consumer Protection Department under Federal Law No. 15 of 2020, regulates commercial agency law, and oversees the UAE's Anti-Money-Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) framework for designated non-financial businesses. It also runs the federal SME-support programme.
